More than 30 CFC-FFL brothers and sisters from the Diocese of Paranaque arrived in 2 cars-full at the Batasan to register opposition to HB5043 currently being deliberated upon. Jett Reyes of Las Pinas had the largest delegation. We recognized the need to make our Congressmen aware that we are against HB5043 that threatens family and life. As such we continue to call upon our CFC-FFL brethren to get involved.
Xavy Padilla informed us that the Congress Gallery opens at 2:30pm, so we made sure we were there by then. We all met at McDonald’s in front of Ever Gotesco, along Commonwealth Ave. Everyone arrived at about the same time before 2pm. It was great!
The first problem we encountered was getting inside the Batasan grounds. We were told that we can only enter by 5pm since they give priority to the senior citizens. The creativity of our brethren paid off, as we were able to enter the premises.
Next hurdle was going inside the gallery. Our creativity didn’t pay off at the Gallery since only Jett Reyes and this writer were able to enter the gallery before 5:00PM. Xavy Padilla, as well as others, were already there. The rest proceeded to the Canteen to await the 5:00PM opening. There we met the brethren from CFC Global - Charlie Laiz, Benjie Fuentes, Cristy Balilo of Teodora, to name a few.
