How can you Help Yourself to Mature
|
Emotionally
-
Learn to view problems objectively.
-
Learn to accept criticisms graciously.
-
Learn to express anger and frustration constructively, such as through physical exercise.
|
Mentally
-
Build your self-confidence.
-
Appreciate your good qualities.
-
Order your life with health and self-discipline.
-
Desire to do good and to help others.
-
Set realistic goals and work towards them gradually.
-
Be positive; think of yourself as successful.
-
Learn from your mistakes, enjoy your success.
-
Failures are just learning experiences. The only real failure is the one from which you have learned nothing.
Socially
-
Learn to express appreciation for other's.
-
Be willing to help others.
-
Develop friendships where your interests can be shared.
Spiritually
-
Attend the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass or religious services regularly; receive Holy Communion as often as possible.
-
Seek out friends who have strong moral values.
-
Set yourself high ideals to work towards.
-
Learn to put others before yourself.
-
Always bear in mind the sanctifying graces you received in the Sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation. Baptism reminds you that you have Christian birthrights. Confirmation strengthens and deepens your faith, enables you to become mature Christians and draws you closer to God - the source of all goodness.
