The dreaded surprise quiz, it always seems to come out when you\rquote re least prepared. Algebra. English. Biology. Pro-Life. A pro-life quiz??? You heard me right. Those times in the hall, at your locker, in the cafeteria, when you have an opportunity to share the truth based on the Christian moral teachings you have been brought up to believe by your family but don' t because you are unprepared to debate.
|
Well, take this pro-life quiz. Be armed with the truth, so the next time you're hit with a hallway pro-life pop quiz you won't have to stay silent. You'll be a loud voice for truth! You' re in health class and the topic of the day is the female reproductive system and how it works. The teacher mentions several forms of contraception that she claims have helped women regulate their families as they see fit. What do you do?
Do you: Stay quiet? She is the teacher and you are the student. She has to be right. Laugh with your friends who are making jokes about a picture of a condom in their textbooks?
Raise your hand? Remind your teacher and the class that our Christian faith tells us that contraception is morally wrong, that contraceptives actually cause abortion.
Do you:
-
Quietly listen? It's his life and he has freedom of choice.
-
Encourage him to go for it? You want to be supportive.
-
Remind him that experimenting with sex opens him up to a lot of potential problems. You' re walking through the hallway of your school. As you approach your barkada you overhear them talking about the abortion issue. You step back. You eyes open wide. One of your friends comment, "So what, it's no big deal. It' s the woman's body. Nowadays, women are given freedom of choice especially if the baby is diagnosed to be abnormal".
-
Keep your mouth shut? You're not part of the conversation anyway. Tell your friends the truth? Abortion is a sin because it takes the life of another human being no matter what the circumstances are.
If you answered to two or more of the questions, then you are not bold enough to assert your beliefs or you do not have the knowledge to challenge your friends or teachers. If you picked "for at least two of the questions, you're on your way to becoming a loud and confident voice for truth. Becoming a voice for truth takes courage and commitment, but don't be afraid to speak up. With God' s power working through you, you can become a strong testimony for truth and life in this age of sexual revolution.
