Whom can I talk to?Many women have received the support they need at this most critical time in their life by contacting a pregnancy help center. You may be afraid, confused, overwhelmed. You need someone to talk to confidentially. You need someone who understands and will help you make the best decision for you and your baby.
Experienced counselors are available to help you think through this decision and find the financial, emotional, and spiritual support you need to carry it out. You can call one of the numbers listed in this brochure.
What about my school? What about my job?Your present school may allow you to continue your education, if you wish. Otherwise, there are private instruction available, or other schools better suited to your needs.
The law requires your employer to allow you to keep your job.
Where can I get medical help?The center will refer you to a doctor or a clinic who can help you with your medical needs.
Some friends tell me I should have an abortion.There are some people that will tell you "it's only tissue" that you are aborting. But that's a lie. From the first moment you are pregnant, a unique living human being is developing inside you. The child carries the genetic inheritance of both you and the father of the child.
By six weeks of age, when the mother misses her second period, the unborn child is already beautifully formed, with a strong heartbeat of its own and recordable brain waves. The skeleton, muscles and many organs are formed and operating. Soon the child will have its own fingerprints, be able to grab an object and suck its thumb.
Destroying this human life you carry will not solve the problems you face. It will only create additional problems.
What about adoption?one of the choices available to you is to arrange for a loving family to adopt your child. The center can help you to work out an adoption plan for your child and direct you to the best agency for the arrangements needed.
