Pro-Life Forum on Reproductive Health

Pro-life Philippines started the year 2008 with a forum on the pro-life stand regarding Reproductive Health. It was held January 19, 2008, Saturday, at the Religious of Good Shepherd Compound in Quezon City. The theme of the said forum was “Is Reproductive Health for health and reproduction? Is Safe Sex Safe? (know the hidden agenda).”

The forum aimed to enlighten the participants on the dangers facing Philippine society through anti-life legislations pending in Congress and Local Government Councils, to educate the participants on the teaching of our faith on these matters, and to make the participants commit to mobilize others to oppose these dangerous bills.
It was well attended with 76 participants from various schools, church-based organizations, seminaries, and NGO’s. The speakers were Pro-Life Board of Trustees member Mr. Ed Sorreta who talked about the divine purpose and meaning of sex and the dire consequences of its violation, disproving the effectiveness of “safe sex”, and in fact portraying its evil consequences. He used a vivid PowerPoint presentation on the Culture of Life vs. the Culture of Death. The other speaker was Mrs. Fenny Tatad, Lobby officer of the CBCP Office on Women. She discussed the hidden agenda of the Reproductive Health House Bill no.17 and the influence of the international population control agencies and funding groups on the legislators to pass the said bills.
After the two presentations, the participants were given an hour to share their insights, points of clarification and questions to the two prominent speakers.
