The Ateneo de Manila University Graduate School of Business has withdrawn its offer of a new Master in Business Administration (MBA) in Health, with emphasis on “Strategic Population Research Management.” The program was to be introduced in July 2007 with a grant of five fellowships for “future leaders and managers of population programs."

Opposition from ALFI, Pro-Life Philippines, and other groups may have convinced Dean Alfredo R.A. Bengzon and Director Napoleon K. Juanillo to discontinue the program.
The Ateneo MBA-Health Program was to be financed with a 3-year US$250,000 grant from the Lucile and Packard Foundation of the United States. The foundation is known as an abortion advocate, with beneficiaries such as the National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League Foundation (NARAL), now known as NARAL Pro-Choice America, the National Abortion Federation, and Planned Parenthood of America. As a Catholic university, the Ateneo should not be receiving funding support from an organization that openly espouses abortion, population control, and reproductive health.
