Cops arrest 20 people in abortion clinic raid

Police on Saturday night arrested 20 people, including 14 women who had their babies aborted, in a raid conducted on an abortion clinic in San Andres Bukid, Manila, ABS-CBN News reported.

Members of the Manila Police District Station 6 raided an apartment on Coral Street in San Andres Bukid after a receiving a tip that the place was turned into an abortion clinic.
The policemen arrested the 14 women and brought them to Ospital ng Maynila for medical attention. Six people working for an abortionist were also arrested.
Police said the midwife who was maintaining the apartment was not in the place during the operation.
The police are readying criminal charges against the clinic's workers and the 14 women.
