TEEN SEXUALITY HUSH, HUSH ABOUT SEX
|
Pre-marital sex hurts - psychologically as well as physically. For many first-timers, the experience is so fraught with anxiety and guilt that all they feel afterwards is disappointment, shame, and a feeling of being let down.
Don’t judge a book by its cover. “Nice” guys have been known to force themselves on their dates, and “nice” girls have turned out to be infected. “Decent” fellows may have disgusting sexual kinks, while “docile” souls turn out to be frighteningly violent in bed.
|
You can get infected with AIDS or an STD (sexually transmitted disease) even by someone who looks respectable and clean. Many teenagers think you can catch a disease only if you have sex with a prostitute or with some much older man or woman of the world. Not so. A lot of AIDS sufferers move in our midst, looking pretty much like you and me. Some of them may not even know they have the disease, because it’s still at an early stage and does not manifest itself.
Sex is an emotional experience that leaves you vulnerable in ways you may not want to be. It can blind you to the character of your sexual partner and cause you to make errors in judgement. Notice how marriages built on passion last no longer than the honeymoon, while marriages build on respect and friendship last a lifetime.
If you can put off sex until after the wedding, you have the prognosis for a long and lasting marriage.
