Editor's Note by J. Leornas

Each New Year brings hope. As we begin another year, I do not only think of what future lies ahead. I also reminisce the past. We are celebrating 30 years of the pro-life movement in our country. It was began by Sr. Mary Pilar Verzosa of the Good Shepherd Sisters. In spite of the tremendous odds and limited resources, she persisted.
|
And this is where we are now. I will never forget what she said during one of her talks – that as long as there is one baby killed or threatened by abortion, or any other person threatened by the culture of death, pro-life will never cease to exist. How true indeed. That is the very reason we have existed all these years. Every person counts in the eyes of our Creator. In fact, we include in our prayers those who inflict harm like the abortionists.
Abortion is not a single issue. The killing of a defenseless, innocent human being starts even before the act is done – in the minds of those who want to get rid of the evidence of sexual irresponsibility, failed contraception, abusive or manipulative relationships, population control propagandists.
That is why Pro-life Philippines has many programs reaching out to various levels and groups in society to explain and respond to the needs of our brothers and sisters. In this anniversary issue of our publication, we have reprinted some of the best articles in past issues. Some articles are deep and well-researched by the authors. All the articles have emphasized the wisdom of the teachings of the Church on the dignity of life, the devastation wrought by abortion, the meaning of love, marriage, sexuality, and the wisdom and beauty of natural family planning versus the lies behind contraception and population control.
Join us celebrate LIFE! Join us bring this message of LIFE to everyone!
