Diocese to support gov’t NFP but…
|
|
MATI CITY, The Diocese of Mati expressed support on the “Responsible Parenting with Natural Family Planning” program of the government, but with the assurance that there will be no method to be used which promote artificial birth control and abortion.
|
Family and Life Apostolate (FLA) coordinator Sr. Mila Arnado, LGC said that they will work in partnership with Department of Health (DOH) provided no contraception.
Arnado already met with Davao Oriental Health regional director Dr. Raquel Montejo thrice and discussed about the proposed collaboration of Church and DOH in the implementation of natural family planning instead of the artificial family planning methods.
To date, FLA is still waiting for the content of the implementation of the program and the rules and laws accompanying its implementation.
The proposed tie-up has also got support from Bishop Patricio Alo who earlier urged the people to make use of the natural family planning.
Arnado, is also optimistic that if the proposed tie-up will pursue it is advantageous for FLA for they can now intensify their campaign for responsible parenthood and NFP to the grassroots level.
“As of now, we can only reach the couples through Pre-Cana and mansibado seminars,” she said.
