Sanctity of life is at brink of collapse, pro-life group says
|
DAVAO City, A pro-life group said there are visible threats to the sanctity of life today that may lead to further collapse if the people will remain unreceptive.
Dr. Ligaya Acosta, director of Human Life International –Asia Region said the threats to human life and marriage are handiwork of foreign governments like the United States which lead the way in promoting artificial birth control.
|
Acosta recently talked on “The threats to the Asian Family,” where she admitted that in every artificial birth control program there is considerable amount of foreign funding involved.
A former employee of the Department of Health (DoH), Acosta was heavily involved in the government’s population control program.
During her talk she recounted her journey from being an “anti-life” to becoming a “pro-life.”
She spoke lengthily about the involvement of the US government in providing foreign funds to the government if it will advance the campaign on the promotion of artificial birth control.
Acosta said there is a big deception that also accompanies the population control program of government.
Atty. Jo Imbong, legal counsel of the Human Life International also talked on the “The Architect on the Culture of Death.”
Saying the USA is the chief architect on the culture of death, Imbong warned families not to be swayed by the artificial birth control programs promoted by the Philippine government as these are also backed by foreign funding agencies.
She appealed to parents to uphold the provisions of the country’s 1987 Constitution, which promotes integrity and protection of the Filipino family.
Imbong also explained to the participants during the Pro-Life Forum at the packed CAP Auditorium in Anda St., this city their constitutionally guaranteed rights to begin a family, free from threats, among other things.
The forum was part of the initiatives of the Archdiocesan Council of the Lay Apostolate and Integrated Movements (ACLAIM) in Davao to educate the people on the promotion of life and family.
Pro-life groups, parents, teachers and mostly college students attended the said forum. Catholic Herald editor-in-chief Fr. Russel A. Bantiles celebrated the Holy Eucharist prior to the forum.
