  • There is more value in a little study of humility and in a single act of it than in all the knowledge in the world. (St. Teresa of Avila) Why is pride an enemy, even our greatest enemy? Pride, “inordinate self-love, is the cause of every sin.” (St. Thomas) If sin is our enemy, the only real evil, and pride its cause, then pride is the greatest enemy within us we have to overcome. Pride was the sin of Adam and Lucifer.  It is “the chief cause of suffering in every nation, in every family since the world began.” (C.S….

  • Speaker warns about valuing wifi more than purity

Prolife Philippines Board Member Peter Pardo gives a talk on teen sexuality and pornography to Mater Carmeli School-Novaliches (MCS) students, Sept. 28, 2017. NOVALICHES – During a symposium-seminar on teen sexuality and pornography on Sept. 28, a resource speaker emphasizes how today’s culture places a higher premium on digital connectivity than on sexual chastity. “We live in an era where losing one’s mobile phone or having a poor internet connection now seem to be more alarming than losing one’s purity,” said Prolife Philippines board member Peter Pardo. Speaking to 400 students at the MCS Auditorium, he discussed the shocking reality…

  • Trump Administration Changes Obama Policy, Now Confirms Human Life Begins at Conception

President Donald Trump’s administration signaled its commitment to protecting life again this week in a proposed Department of Health and Human Services strategic plan. The plan states that HHS will serve Americans at “every stage of life, beginning at conception” and up through “natural death,” Opposing Views reports. While the new language will not affect abortion laws, it will help direct public policy under the Trump administration during the next four years. Unsurprisingly, abortion activists are outraged by the draft. The pro-abortion blog Jezebel, the Huffington Post and other liberal news sites already have attacked the life-affirming language, despite its…

  • Abortion and homosexuality are a ‘living reflection of hell’: U.S. Archbishop

SAN FRANCISCO, California, October 11, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) — Those who doubt the existence of hell, despite Our Lady of Fatima showing its horrors to three Portuguese shepherd children 100 years ago, can nevertheless see a “living reflection of hell” in abortion, euthanasia, and homosexuality, said San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone. Archbishop Cordileone made his remarks during a homily last weekend as he consecrated his Archdiocese to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. He recalled during his October 7 homily the great evils witnessed in the past 100 years, including the great world wars, death camps, numerous genocides, and Christian persecution. “Who…

Marawi bishop opposes martial law extension

Jul 19, 2017

MANILA— The Catholic prelate of war-torn Marawi is opposing the government’s plan to extend the martial law in Mindanao. Bishop Edwin de la Peña of Marawi favored the 60-day military rule in the region but said that extending it is no longer necessary. After all, he said, the government can already deal with the situation in Marawi even without martial law. “I am against martial law extension,” de la Peña said. “The first martial law declaration was fine but if they are going to use Marawi again to justify its extension, I don’t think it’s right.” As the military continue…

Bishop slams modern day ‘Judases’ behind summary killings

Jul 3, 2017

MANILA— As a wave of drug-related killings continues in the country, a Catholic bishop condemned those who sow violence the same way some once supported Judas against Jesus. In a strongly-worded homily during a Mass after a “Walk for Life” in Navotas City on Sunday, Bishop Pablo Virgilio David of Kalookan said that behind the violence are “Judases” who are in cahoots with the killers. He said if some people consider the suspected drug personalities as “termites of society,” so are those behind the extrajudicial killings. “They are the new ‘Makapili’ during the Japanese’ time who would betray their fellowmen and…
