Remembering 12-12-12

Today, we commemorate with a sense of hope and sustained vigilance the infamy of 12-12-12, the day when congress passed in its second reading the Reproductive Health bill.

Our top leaders have always allied themselves with those who harbor inimical sentiments and interests against Holy Mother Church; therefore it was never a coincidence that these men, who possess no fear of God nor shame for their wickedness, have decided that the RH bill should pass the crucial 2nd vote on the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe Herself.

The victory was no means an easy one; even with the King’s henchmen present in congress, spreading fear, spreading malice, spreading greed – our proud and valiant legislators, clergy, and ordinary laymen would not be swayed. In the years to come we will remember those names – Mitos Habana Magsaysay, Ramon Arguelles, Eric Baena Manalang, Lito Yap David, Marwil Nacor Llasos, Prolife Philippines, Filipinos for Life – names that have been synonymous to the great resistance against the Culture of Death.

Today we remember the strength of conviction of the nameless and faceless pro-lifers who went to congress almost daily and prayed for this nation to be spared of the RH plague. Rain or shine they stood up for the right to life, and they were always present to be counted among those who fought for the common good.

Today we remember that stirring passion within our hearts as we stood defiant against that bill that would bring about Death in our society. Remember that on this day two years ago, we have prayed like we have never prayed before! Never forget that emotion, brothers and sisters that feeling that this country shall never be the same after this day!

Today, we recall our constant companions in our advocacy, and even those who were evidently absent on that most important of days.

Today, there is much to remember, and lest we forget, today there is also much to do. Every person we save, and every person we enlighten with the Gospel of Life, we save a whole generation because of our actions.

Today, there are lots of reasons to hope. Every child born in this world will face so many challenges, and it is up to us pro-lifers to lend a helping hand especially to those who have very little in life. Today, we either help one another, or we fall. Take each others hands, and take courage! Our Lady of Guadalupe watches over us always!

Viva Cristo Rey!

One Response to “Remembering 12-12-12”
  1. Teresita uy says:

The RH Bill was passed 12-12-12, the 12th day of the month, the same day our Blessed Mother appeared and visited Sr. Teresing Castillo and the Carmelites at Lipa, Batangas nearly 67 years ago, and taught us humility and simplicity, and the true devotion to Her according to St. Louis De Montfort.

It was the very day we remember Her Visitation to Philippines, one for us to remember as our very own. And maybe it was for the same reason, it was not God’s will for us to invoke the Blessed Mother under Her other many Titles including that of Her Visitation at Guadalupe, that the intention to defeat the RH Bill did not succeed, was not granted. We were supposed to invoke the Blessed Mother under Her one and only Philippine Title as the Mediatrix of All Grace, one specially given to us, Filipinos. Why invoke Her with other Titles than our very own, the very one given to us? We were given our own Visitation, we must make use of this Her Title as Mediatrix of All Grace in our every petition.

Moreover, have we truly obeyed what She has requested, that of following the teachings of God through St. Louis de Montfort, and consecrate ourselves to Her to be Her true devotees? Have we done this even before we poured our hearts to Her for this very RH Bill intention? The Congress passing the RH Bill into law should not surprise us anymore but requires a lot of reflection.

The sign of July 16, 2013 should have made it clear to us: the Feast of our Lady of Mount Carmel, the same day when the Supreme Court suspends implementation of RH Bill for 120 days. Is it then a wonder why on April 8, 2014, after raising our hearts in petition to the Blessed Mother and invoking Her under Her Title as Mediatrix of All Grace, that the very provisions that make RH Bill evil were scrapped by the Supreme Court? The fact that our prayers were granted even only in part already answered the above questions and proves the point.

Should we still try to ignore Her in Her role as our Mediatrix with God? She is not only given to us as our Mother. Mary is given to us also as our Mediatrix with the Holy Triune God, being the most humble of His daughters, the most loving of all mothers, and the most faithful of all wives! And to come specifically to our beloved land to visit us, what more can we ask for!

O Mary, our Queen, our loving Mother, Mediatrix of All Grace, pray for us!
