Anti-RH Pro-Lifers Were Right All Along

rh

We still remember that at the height of the debates and discussion about the RH law, there was a criticism against the Pro-life camp for arguing that RH will lead to abortion. RH supporters, mostly the naive ones, were the first ones to counter that there is no provision for abortion anywhere in the bill, and they criticized the pro-life camp for sowing misinformation.

Less than two years later, and look at what we have now.

WGNRR, or Women’s Global Network for Reproductive Rights, came up with this petition for “justified abortions” on August 28, 2014. It should be noted that WGNRR, led by Dra. Sylvia Claudio, was one of the staunch supporters of the RH law.

The petition mentions that the following are justified abortions:

 (1) abortion is performed after implantation of fertilized ovum arising from rape or incest, (2) continuation of pregnancy endangers life of pregnant woman or seriously impairs her physical, mental or emotional health, and (3) sonogram or other diagnostic test show the fetus suffers from incurable disease or serious deformity

WGNRR is  a group who works for the legalization of abortion in countries that outlaw them, and they have been active way before the RH law was passed. Now here they are, asking for signatures, asking for vital support in changing the tone of the abortion discussion here in our country in order to make it more acceptable in lieu of abortions being justified.

How can anyone justify murdering a defenseless human being?

Note that the sign-on letter they have crafted is very, very careful in their wordings. Never did they mention that they want to change our laws on abortion. Never did they say that we should now be providing abortion on demand. All they wanted was for us to enter more discussions about abortion, buttressing it with the argument that the lack of abortion laws jack the abortion numbers up.

The language and the tone is very much reminiscent of Hillary Clinton admitting that Reproductive Health really means access to abortion – abortion that is rare and legal. Here lies the logic: let’s stop abortion by legalizing abortion. We have perfectly good reasons to abort the helpless little fetus anyway. What could be a greater reason than the mother?

Pitting the mother’s life against the unborn child has always been central to the illogical and scientifically fallacious catchprase: “my body, my choice!” First of all, just because a child is in your body, doesn’t mean it’s part of your body. Not unless you would admit to having four arms, four legs, and two heads. Scientifically speaking, the child isn’t a part of the mother; the baby has its own heartbeat, has its own, brainwaves, and has its own DNA.

Abortion is just one of many in this multi-headed Hydra that came out of the RH Pandora’s Box. The LGBT agenda to make homosexual behavior normal and acceptable has reached the halls of congress and senate. Recently, reports have mentioned that the DepEd has edited its vision-mission in order to remove the phrase “God-Loving”.

Secularism, moral ambiguity, the Homosexual agenda: if these things are not enough to impel all our Christians to move and stand up for life and for the Church, then nothing will.

It is enough for good men to do nothing for evils like abortion and the homosexual agenda to take over our country and corrupt our youth.

Thank you for breaking this most timely story! Let us all urge our fellow Catholics and other Christians not to be deceived by the “careful” words of this petition and see it for what it really is: a brazen attempt to legalize the murder of the most innocent of all. What do you have to say about this, Edcel Lagman and Risa Hontiveros and Pia Cayetano? And what about you other guys in the Senate and House who voted “yes” to the RH law despite the valid arguments against it? You “good guys” (if that term is still appropriate) made this possible by pushing Malacanang’s agenda, and I guess your share of the PDAF as a result of your compliance didn’t hurt either, right?

Sooner or later, we will, each one of us, get what we deserve according to our deeds or misdeeds. It seems we have elected many Godless people to govern our country – people who will sell their souls for the right price, which is how the RH bIll became law in the first place despite vigorous and vehement opposition from the vast majority. Those of us who believe in and defend life and the traditional marriage and family must stand firm and uphold and proclaim the truth to the very last, confident that in the end, as Jesus promised, good will triumph over evil, and the “gets of hell will not prevail against His Church.
