PRO-LIFE PHILIPPINES STATEMENT ON THE SUSPENSION OF RH LAW

tro

Pro Life Philippines is delighted that the Supreme Court has decided to issue a status quo ante order on the Reproductive Health (RH) law signed by President Benigno Aquino III last December.

The Justices voted 10-5 in favor of temporarily suspending the implementation of the RH law for the next four months, or 120 days.

Those who voted for the suspension of RH were:

1) Teresita de Castro

2) Arturo Brion,

3) Lucas Bersamin

4) Diosdado Peralta

5) Presbitero Velasco Jr.

6) Roberto Abad

7) Bienvenido Reyes

8.) Jose Mendoza

9) Jose Perez

10) Martin Villarama Jr.

The 5 justices who voted against this were: Ma. Lourdes Sereno, Antonio Carpio, Mariano del Castillo, Marvic Leonen and Estela Perlas-Bernabe.

We must use this time, however, in order to plan, to strategize, to mobilize, to regroup, and to pray. The supporters of RH will not stop until every letter of the law is implemented and the culture of death reign in our nation. This is a time for thanking God and our Blessed Mother on this feast of St. Joseph, the foster father of Jesus. This is also a time for praying for the all the Supreme Court justices that they may continue to uphold the constitution and that those in power will do their utmost to protect the weak and the poor.

The suspension comes at a very opportune day: on the feast of St. Joseph, who was the foster father of Christ, and one who exemplified not only total obedience to God but also showed us what true responsible parenthood is: to follow God’s will, first and foremost, and second, to educate and take care of your child so that he may imbibe Godly values that he will guide him all his life.

We pray that our country may continue to step towards the right path, guided by the light of Christ and strengthened by the values handed down to us by our forefathers.

We should never compromise our faith with the Lord, either we say yes to His Will or side with the Devil. RH Bill is against God’s will but because God is so merciful, He will give more time for the promoters of this anti-God bill to be converted and their minds enlightened, through the intercession of the Holy Spirit and the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Thanking God for this good news.

We thank God, the Blessed Mother and St. Joseph for their guidance and consolation. We continue to pray.

  4. camilo pongos says:

Thanks God for the justice who have a conscience to say yes to the will of God. The justice who voted for the suspension are heroes. Again thanks to the Lord for their wisdom.
