Where the Winds Blow

Finally, after so much speculation and days of waiting and trepidation on the Synod, the bishops decided to uphold the teaching and Tradition of the Catholic Church. All that talk about ‘welcoming gays’ into the Church (as if they were rejected in the first place), also billed as the “winds of change” that shook the media world into a frenzy, died down with a whimper. Those old men with robes are still holding on to archaic and medieval beliefs. The conservatives breathe a sigh of relief, and the liberals are still frothing in the mouth. Let’s read it straight from…

There is No Justice in Justified Abortions

The pro-abortion lobby group WGNRR (Women’s Global Network on Reproductive Rights) has launched a signature campaign calling for Justice De Lima to revise the present criminal code in order to include provisions for ‘justified abortions.’ In their petition, justified abortions can be done under these conditions: 1.            In case of incest or rape; 2.            If the physical and emotional health of the mother is in danger; 3.            If tests prove that the fetus will have a serious illness or deformity. It could be recalled that the WGNRR was one of the groups who pushed for the RH bill which is…

From Shame to Shameless

When Adam and Eve ate the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge, they realized that they were naked, and so they hid, making clothes out of fig leaves. When the models of Bench’s Naked Truth event burst into the catwalk last Saturday, they were almost naked, and barely clothed, save for some. The difference? They did not feel any shame. They were shameless. This is what Bench feels right now too. Shameless. Bench is laughing all the way to the bank because it used an old…

Greetings ! WE REMEMBER. Recently canonized Pope John Paul II continues to hold a very special place in the hearts of the Catholic faithful. His two visits in our country in 1981 and 1995 remain alive in the nation’s memory. WE CELEBRATE. The Filipino people are one with the rest of the Catholic world in celebrating the life and times of this modern-day saint every opportunity we get as we all try to live out his legacy of love for Life, zeal for Evangelization and passion for living out the Faith. WE BELIEVE. As we offer our gratitude to God…

Anti-RH Pro-Lifers Were Right All Along

We still remember that at the height of the debates and discussion about the RH law, there was a criticism against the Pro-life camp for arguing that RH will lead to abortion. RH supporters, mostly the naive ones, were the first ones to counter that there is no provision for abortion anywhere in the bill, and they criticized the pro-life camp for sowing misinformation.         Less than two years later, and look at what we have now.   WGNRR, or Women’s Global Network for Reproductive Rights, came up with this petition for “justified abortions” on…

PopCom is a Second Rate, Trying Hard Copycat

We Filipinos are so good at imitating everything western. Everything, from films to fashion, from culture to food. As they say, imitation is the best form of flattery, and we have flattered our Caucasian brothers  and sung their praises all the way to the high heavens. One of the things we sincerely wish we didn’t copy from them is the PopCom’s penchant for population scaremongering. They simply have to tell you the worst things in order to get the public to accept the population control…

Welcoming the 100 Millionth Baby

Pro-life Philippines would like to officially welcome the 100 millionth Pinoy baby named Chonalyn, born this week. How the government has determined this baby as the 100 millionth, we do not know. Regardless,  whether the baby really is the proverbial hundred millionth child or not, we would like to tell Chonalyn: we are glad that you were born. Happy birthday to you! Our RH supporters, however, don’t seem too happy with  Chonalyn’s birth. Ever the party poopers, they accompany reports of her birth with their sense of impending doom…
