California elementary schools to use pro-LGBT history textbooks

SACRAMENTO, California, November 14, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) — Children in California will be learning to identify historical personages by their sexuality. The Advocate reported that the California state board of education approved “10 LGBT-inclusive history textbooks” for elementary school students in grades K-8 last week. It also rejected two textbooks on the grounds that they did not include “LGBT history.” The exclusion of LGBT history violates California’s FAIR Education Act. The FAIR Education Act, once informally called the LGBT History Bill, was written by Senator Mark Leno. FAIR stands for “Fair, Accurate, Inclusive, and Respectful.” It ensures that the political, economic…

Nurses testify on being forced to do abortions: ‘I still have nightmares’

November 9, 2017 (NewsBusters) — While many in the liberal media herald abortion as “women’s rights,” they censor how abortion endangers women’s rights in the medical profession — women who are forced to either help perform abortion or risk losing their jobs. On Wednesday, pro-life leaders and lawmakers attended a Capitol Hill press conference in support of the Conscience Protection Act of 2017. The bill protects the conscience of those in federally-funded healthcare systems who object to performing or participating in abortion. Nurses, whom the legislation would affect, testified at the event. Sponsored by Rep. Diane Black (R-TN), the bill would…

It states: “The State acknowledges the right to life of the unborn and, with due regard to the equal right to life of the mother,…

‘Cheap sex’ is destroying marriage and faith in America: new book

AUSTIN, Texas, October 19, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) — “Cheap sex” is to blame for the marginalization of traditional marriage, says famed sociologist Mark Regnerus. In his recently released book “Cheap Sex: The Transformation of Men, Marriage and Monogamy,” Regnerus examines the dramatic changes in American sexual beliefs that have led to an inability among increasing numbers of young men and women to marry, have children and be faithful to one another. The answer, in short, is “cheap sex” — sex that carries neither the high price tag of a lifelong committed monogamous relationship nor that of reproduction. Three technological developments —…

Overcoming our greatest Enemy

There is more value in a little study of humility and in a single act of it than in all the knowledge in the world. (St. Teresa of Avila) Why is pride an enemy, even our greatest enemy? Pride, “inordinate self-love, is the cause of every sin.” (St. Thomas) If sin is our enemy, the only real evil, and pride its cause, then pride is the greatest enemy within us we have to overcome. Pride was the sin of Adam and Lucifer.  It is “the chief cause of suffering in every nation, in every family since the world began.” (C.S….
