First-Ever “Quitters Ball” Celebrates People Who Quit Their Jobs at Abortion Clinics

And Then There Were None, the only organization in the nation to actively assist people who work in the abortion industry to leave, to find new jobs, and to obtain healing from the horrific things they saw and participated in, held their first ever “Quitters Ball” in Dallas, Texas this past weekend honoring these former workers, affectionately called “quitters” by the ministry. “Never before has this many former abortion workers been in the same room together and on the side of life,” said Abby Johnson. “Abortion workers are overlooked in the national conversation on abortion, yet they are just like…

Texas Governor Greg Abbott Signs Pro-Life Bill Banning Mail-Order Abortion Pills

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has signed yet another pro-life bill into law to help save babies from abortion. He has signed SB4 into law, which would ban mail-order abortion drugs and would place limits on in-person sales of the abortion pill before 7 weeks to protect women’s health. The new pro-life law would also help support the Texas abortion ban by adding criminal penalties for anyone who sells the abortion pill illegally. Under SB 4, the charges for “intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly,” violating the provisions of the bill would be a state jail felony, which carries fines of up to…

Benedict XVI: Legalization of same-sex marriage is ‘a distortion of conscience’

VATICAN— Pope emeritus Benedict XVI has said that the legalization of same-sex marriage in many countries is “a distortion of conscience” which has also entered some Catholic circles. In an introduction to a new anthology of his writings on Europe, Benedict XVI said that “with the legalization of ‘same-sex marriage’ in 16 European countries, the issue of marriage and family has taken on a new dimension that cannot be ignored.” “We are witnessing a distortion of conscience which has evidently penetrated deeply into sectors of the Catholic people,” the pope emeritus wrote. “This cannot be answered with some small moralism…

Miracle Baby Born at 25 Weeks and Smaller Than Her Father’s Hand is Doing Great Now

A tiny baby, smaller than her father’s hand when she was born, given only a 10% chance of survival by doctors, is doing well and has left hospital with her parents, Kevin and Katie Cook, after a 16-week struggle. The premature baby girl, named Mirren, was born at 25 weeks, and weighed just 467 grams at birth in a hospital in Scotland. Her mother, Katie, had developed pre-eclampsia, a potentially fatal pregnancy disorder involving high blood pressure, which necessitated an emergency caesarean after she could not feel the baby moving. Mirren’s parents had to wait ten days to hold their…

Norma McCorvey, the Jane Roe of Roe v. Wade, Never Had an Abortion. This is Her Daughter

For the first time in nearly 50 years, Americans finally know the face and name of the child whose life, by no choice of her own, was the reason for the infamous U.S. Supreme Court abortion ruling Roe v. Wade. Unknown to many, Norma McCorvey, the “Jane Roe” of the case, never had an abortion. Instead, she gave birth to her baby girl and made an adoption plan for her. This week, The Atlantic revealed the “Roe baby’s” name for the first time: Shelley Lynn Thornton. For decades, Thornton avoided the press and even hid her troubling background from friends. Understandably, her thoughts…

Tarlac’s Marian image receives pontifical coronation

Jun 9, 2021

The venerated image of Mater Dolorosa de Capas has received a canonical coronation over the weekend. Archbishop Charles Brown, apostolic nuncio to the Philippines, crowned the image during Mass at the San Sebastian Cathedral in Tarlac City on June 5. In his homily, the nuncio asked the faithful to turn to Mary to pray for “our difficulties, the sorrows, the sadness of our human lives”. “Let us allow her to present them to Jesus, the Heavenly Father,” Brown said. “Let us remember that in our Catholic faith, sorrow will be turned into joy. That joy will have the last word.”…

Pope Francis declares blind 14th-century lay Dominican a saint

Apr 26, 2021

VATICAN— Pope Francis declared a blind 14th-century Italian lay Dominican a saint Saturday using a process known as “equipollent” canonization. The Holy See press office said April 24 that the pope had authorized the extension of the liturgical cult of Blessed Margaret of Castello to the universal Church during a Saturday morning meeting with Cardinal Marcello Semeraro, prefect of the Vatican Congregation for the Causes of Saints. She will now be inscribed among the saints via the procedure also called “equivalent” canonization, where the requirement for a miracle attributed to the candidate’s intercession is waived. Margaret of Castello was born blind and…
